Privacy Policy

The short version

What XStudio keeps on your PC

XStudio saves your settings, scenes, the images you add and your chat filters in your Windows user profile (%APPDATA%\com.xstudio.live). Local recordings are saved on your PC, by default in Videos\XStudio.

Your TikTok session is stored encrypted with Windows Data Protection (DPAPI), so only your Windows account on that PC can read it. We never receive it.

What XStudio shares with TikTok

To sign in, XStudio opens TikTok's own sign-in page in a separate, temporary Chrome or Edge profile, which it deletes afterwards. Your password goes to TikTok, never to XStudio.

When you use LIVE features, XStudio sends TikTok what they need: your session, your LIVE title, topic, audience, cover and introduction, and the video and audio of your stream. It receives your LIVE's comments, gifts, viewer counts and profile pictures to show them to you. TikTok's own privacy policy covers what TikTok does with this information.

Optional upload test

If you run the upload check, XStudio sends about 8 MB of random data to Cloudflare's speed-test service to measure your connection. Nothing else is sent, though Cloudflare sees your IP address, as any website does.

Phone Camera and AirPlay

These stay on your local network. Video from your phone or iPhone goes straight to XStudio on your PC; we don't receive it.

Downloading and installing

Installers are downloaded from GitHub (github.com/azeez-d3v/xstudio-releases), whose privacy statement applies to that download. If your PC is missing Microsoft WebView2, the installer can send you to Microsoft's download page.

The website

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver and protect it. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits; it doesn't use cookies or follow you across other sites.

The site sets no cookies, has no forms or accounts, and doesn't embed content from other services. Its download links go to GitHub.

Children

XStudio and the website are not meant for children. TikTok has its own age requirements for going LIVE.

Your choices

Signing out in XStudio deletes the saved TikTok session from your PC. To remove everything XStudio stored, uninstall it and choose to delete your settings, scenes and saved sign-in, or delete the %APPDATA%\com.xstudio.live folder. Recordings stay where they were saved until you delete them.

For information TikTok holds about you, use TikTok's own privacy settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version on the website and change the date at the top.
